By ship
Every day there are ferries connecting Santorini with Piraeus. Itineraries become even more frequent during summer months. On the conventional ships the voyage takes 10 hours, while using the fast new generation ships it takes 8 hours (Agoudimos Lines, tel. 210-4133583, Blue Star Ferries, tel. 210-8919800, Hellenic Seaways, tel. 210-4199000, GA Ferries, tel. 210-4582640). There are also high speed boats which take 5 hours (Hellenic Seaways High Speed, tel. 210-4199000, Sea Jet, tel. 210-4121001). Should you travel to Santorini during summer months and particularly in August, you'd better get your tickets quite a long time in advance.

By airplane
There are daily flights from Athens to Santorini with Olympic Airways, Aegean Airlines and Athens Airways. The flight lasts 35 minutes (Olympic Airways: tel. 210-9666666 and 22860-22493, 22860-22793, Aegean Airlines: tel. 210-6261000, 801-11-20000, airport tel. 22860-28500, Athens Airways: www.athensairways.com). There are flights from Thessaloniki to Santorini with Aegean Airlines (airport tel. 22860-28500). The flight lasts 1 to 1,5 hours, according to the type of airplane.
